Requests from authorities
Dog Meetup verifies the requester, authority, jurisdiction, scope, legal basis, and account identifiers before responding. Valid legal process or another sufficient legal basis is required before personal data is disclosed. Requests are interpreted narrowly and challenged or clarified where they are excessive, unclear, or outside the requester's authority.
Emergency and child safety matters
Where Dog Meetup reasonably believes there is an urgent risk of death or serious physical harm, child sexual abuse or exploitation, fraud, or another serious safety issue, Dog Meetup may preserve records and make a minimum-necessary report or disclosure where legally permitted or required. Dog Meetup is not an emergency dispatch service.
User notice and confidentiality
Dog Meetup may notify an affected user unless prohibited by law, a valid non-disclosure requirement, or a documented risk to another person or an investigation. Authority requests and disclosures are recorded with access limited to authorised personnel.
